I have spent over 15 years working with birds, initially establishing and running a sanctuary dedicated to pigeon rescue and rehabilitation, funded through Little Green Pigeon CIC. Having rehomed my sanctuary birds in 2024, I now focus on national advocacy, education, fundraising and campaigning for better recognition and care of these often misunderstood animals. (whilst still paying toward the care of those rehomed birds of course!)

Known affectionately as 'Sue the Pigeon Lady', I am a passionate public speaker, delivering my talk, Why We Need to Love Pigeons, at festivals, conferences and community events across the UK. I have spoken at Rooted Festival, Freedom Fields, Veg Out West, CarFest and Vegfest, and was invited to speak on the main Education Stage at Vegan Camp Out in 2026, receiving a standing ovation.

I have also spoken at National Animal Rights Day, the Parade for Animals, the National Animal Rights March and the Animal Freedom Networks Gathering. My broadcast experience includes Channel 5's The Jeremy Vine Show, BBC Radio 4 and regional BBC radio stations across Essex, Yorkshire, the Midlands and Ireland.

In 2025, I founded the NPAA and developed and hosted the world's first Pigeon Advocacy Conference. Our second conference takes place in October 2026, expecting 200 in-person delegates and 200 online attendees.

My current work with councils aims to establish Pigeon Management Control Centres in every UK town and city, replacing traditional pest control, including shooting and hawking, with humane, contraception-based population management supported by volunteers.

I have collaborated with Protect the Wild on advocacy videos watched by over 3 million people and am developing educational work with Animal Aid in schools.

I also host meetings for the Vegan Business Mastermind and work closely with the group in a client liaison capacity.

Through campaigning, public education and grassroots organising, I use storytelling, humour and evidence-based education to challenge misconceptions and encourage compassion for all animals.

My work is driven by one simple belief: compassion should extend to every animal, regardless of how society views them.
